New mothers typically feel isolated when home on maternity leave,
but right now
the isolation is even greater.
My heart goes out to all the new moms & dads who are trying to navigate the first days and weeks home with a newborn during this COVID-19 self-quarantine.
The support groups are cancelled. The hospitals are strictly limiting visitors. Grandparents are told to stay away. Postpartum doulas aren't able to provide hands-on support. And families are scared to bring their newborns in to see the pediatrician.
At a time when new parents desperately need a village, they just can't build one right now.
HELP NEW MOMS ACCESS ONLINE POSTPARTUM DOULA SUPPORT:
1. Email me with the name and email address of a new mom you know who could use some online postpartum doula support. (does not need to be local)
2. Donate to the gift fund via the link below if you'd like to support a new mom (even if you personally don't know one right now)
New moms can access my On Demand Postpartum Doula support which is a library of brief videos of me answering the top 30 most common "new mom" questions I hear as a postpartum doula. They will also be able to join a private Facebook Group of other new moms & I for check ins and support.
This is the best way I can think of to provide new families with the non-judgmental, common-sense advice and support of a postpartum doula.
My On Demand Postpartum Doula Support package is normally $74, I'm offering a 30% CORONA discount right now. Purchase the package for one or two moms (or make a smaller donation towards the general gift fund)
